Privacy policy

Last updated October 3, 2026

In short

  • You type your Twitch password on Twitch's own page, we never see it. Your sign-in stays on your computer
  • No sign-up with us. No ads, no data sales, no tracking on the website
  • The app sends us anonymous usage stats without usernames, emails or tokens
  • The Discord bot gets data only if you connect it, and forgets it on /stop

About this policy

This policy explains what data the WATCHDROP app for Windows (the “app”), the watchdrop.cc website and the WATCHDROP Discord bot handle, why, and how to delete it. They are built by the WATCHDROP team (“we”).

By using the app, the website or the bot you agree to this policy. If you don't, don't install the app, or remove it if it's already installed.

What stays on your computer

Almost everything the app needs lives in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Watchdrop:

  • your Twitch sign-in (the cookies.jar file). The app uses it to watch streams and claim drops on your behalf. It is sent only to Twitch, never to us;
  • settings, the game queue, reward history, cached images and the app log.

cookies.jar opens your Twitch account without a password. Never send it to anyone, including people claiming to be WATCHDROP support. We will never ask for it.

To delete this data, sign out in the app's settings, or uninstall the app and remove that folder.

What the app sends

Twitch

The app talks to Twitch directly: it loads campaigns and channels, watches streams and claims drops. Twitch handles that data under its privacy notice.

Updates

The app checks for and downloads updates from updates.watchdrop.cc. The server sees your IP address and the requested file, nothing else.

Usage stats

To learn which features help and where the app struggles, it sends anonymous events to api.watchdrop.cc: app version, language, OS, screens opened, queue changes, features turned on, the fact that a drop was claimed, with its campaign ID, and the reason you uninstalled the app, if you picked one in the uninstall window. Events are tied to a random installation ID created on first launch.

We don't receive your Twitch username, ID or sign-in, your email, messages, files or browsing history. IP addresses are not stored with the stats. Events are kept for no more than 180 days.

Game giveaways

The app loads the free games list from IsThereAnyDeal and the Epic Games Store. They see a regular request with your IP address, like when you open their websites. Game and reward art comes from Twitch and store servers.

Discord

Profile activity

When Discord activity is on in settings, the app tells the Discord client on your computer what it's doing, for example which game it's watching. It shows up in your Discord profile like any game status. You can turn it off in the app's settings.

Bot notifications

The bot messages you only after you start it with /start or /link. From then on we keep:

  • your Discord ID and linked devices (device keys are stored hashed);
  • the notification types you picked, quiet hours and your UTC offset;
  • notification texts, such as the name of a claimed drop. They're kept until sent and for 30 days after.

/unlink disconnects the app from the bot. /stop turns off all messages and deletes linked devices, preferences and unsent notifications. Messages in Discord are handled under Discord's privacy policy.

The watchdrop.cc website

The website has no cookies, visit counters or ad pixels. Fonts and images load from our own server. Your browser only remembers the theme and language you picked.

Like any web server, ours keeps a technical request log: IP address, time, page and browser. We use it to stop attacks and find bugs, and keep it for no more than 14 days.

Legal basis

We process data on two grounds:

  • your consent. You give it by installing and running the app, and separately for the Discord bot when you connect it with /start or /link. You can withdraw it at any time: uninstall the app, run /stop or message us;
  • running and improving the app. Without update checks and technical logs the app and the website can't work reliably and safely, and anonymous stats show us what to fix.

Processing follows Russian Federal Law No. 152-FZ “On Personal Data”.

Who gets the data

We don't sell data or share it with ad networks. What we receive is stored on a server we rent, and only the team has access to it. Data goes only to the services named above: Twitch, Discord, IsThereAnyDeal and the Epic Games Store, and only when you use the matching features.

We may disclose data when lawfully required by authorities, but only what we actually have.

How we protect it

All connections to our servers use HTTPS. The server accepts only predefined fields and drops everything else, rate-limits requests and keeps databases closed to the outside. Backups are available to the administrator only. Nobody can promise perfect security, so we collect as little as possible: there is little to lose in a breach.

Your rights

You can ask what data we have about you, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw your consent. Just message us in one of the channels below.

  • Discord bot data is deleted with /stop.
  • We can't link usage stats to a person. If you remove the app folder, a new install gets a new ID, and old events expire on their own after 180 days.
  • You delete the data on your computer yourself, as described above.

Age

WATCHDROP is meant for people 13 and older, just like Twitch. If you're under 18, use it with a parent's permission. If we learn we've received data from a child under 13, we'll delete it.

Changes

If the app starts handling data differently, we'll update this page and its date. We'll announce major changes on Discord and Telegram in advance.
